About

Pineapple Jam Photography is rooted in a love of wildlife, the outdoors, and the quiet moments found on the trails with a camera. I’m Pamela Jane Guselle, a Canadian wildlife photographer who feels most at home observing animals in their natural habitat and capturing the beauty of the wild with respect and care. Photographing wildlife is a privilege, and my work is guided by curiosity, patience, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.

Many people ask where the pineapple comes from.  (No, I’m not a food photographer.)

The pineapple is an old symbol of welcome, hospitality, and friendship, values that matter deeply to me and shape how I move through the world. I love the idea of pairing something classic and meaningful with a name that feels playful. Pineapple Jam strikes that balance for me - richly symbolic, yet whimsical.

'Jam' also has a few layers of meaning. Yes, I make pineapple jam----sweet with just the right amount of tang. But 'jam' also infers a musical jam session, wherein disparate elements come together organically and produce something fresh and lovely. That’s how I experience photography: moments unfolding naturally, coming together in unexpected ways.

And finally, Pineapple Jam is personal in a most direct way: P.J. are my initials (Pamela Jane).

At its heart, Pineapple Jam Photography is about connection: to nature, to wildlife, and to those small, unscripted moments that remind us why the wild matters.
